Hello, I am Aiden Jhadol (also known as Commander Consortia), and this is where I will share my experiences exploring the deep edges of space. Currently posting a log update every Friday at 12 am UGC (Universal Galactic Time). Or just whenever I can find the time.

Entry 006

I have explored all that I possibly can in this entire area of space. I have taken many beautiful photos, but I think It’s time I made my way back to the Core Systems. Or at the very least, to Obsidian Orbital. I want to go see the black hole that is close by to the Maia system, since I’ve never seen one before. Then, I will figure out what I’m going to do about going towards the California Nebula.

Entry 005

tI have arrived at the Orion and Running Man nebulae, and I’ve found it’s quite hard to take photos of the Orion Nebula when it’s in front of Barnard’s Loop, since they are the same colour. The key is to get a photo of the nebula at an angle where it is not in front of Barnard’s Loop. It is still quite beautiful, though. I’ve noticed a little nebula (or is it just a cloud?) called Messier 78, and its blue colour is quite the contrast to all the red, maroon and pink that’s going on right now. So, I’m going to go there next before I go further into Barnard’s Loop.

I’ve just notice a tiny nebula surrounding just one star (like how the Spirograph Nebula does) on my galaxy map called the NGC 1999 Nebula. I think I’ll go there next after visiting the Spirograph Nebula.

I had way too much fun in the Spirograph Nebula, I spent an entire hour there just exploring the system and its planets. It was quite bright and beautiful, I almost didn’t want to leave…I might come back one day, if I ever get the chance.

Entry 003

I have left Obsidian Orbital, and am now currently on my way towards the Witch Head Nebula. I’ve plotted the route towards Rigel, and my ship has no problem finding a route for me. I have a long way to go however, so for now I will just have to entertain myself with some music that I definitely did not illegally download…

Log update on 01-05-3305 at 16:52:35 in Synuefe ZL-T D4-6

I’m currently 24 jumps away from Rigel, and I’m quite excited to get closer to the Witch Head Nebula. This entire area of space is filled with many different Nebula, both big and small. There is also a very big star on my galaxy map that I want to visit: EZ Orionis. Though it looks like the surrounding stars might not be scoop-able, so I’ll have to be careful to not run out of fuel

Log update on 01-05-3305 at 18:45:50 in HIP 23759, docked at Witch Head Science Centre

I am finally at the Witch Head Nebula, and honestly the coolest thing about this place (besides the nebula itself) has to be the science centre I’m at right now. I saw on my ship’s HUD that when I’d selected the centre that I was obviously going to be landing on an asteroid of some sort, but it didn’t realise what was actually going on until I was right next to it. This station is not just inside the rings of a planet, it’s inside in of the asteroids. This has got to be one of the coolest stations I’ve ever been inside of.

On another note, I apparently went straight past a black hole when I was near Maia, and I didn’t realise it until it was far too late. From what I know, discovering black holes will give the biggest payload when selling the data, so I’m pretty bummed that I somehow missed it. Not only that, but I’ve never seen a black hole before! I’ll either have to wait until I go back to the Core Systems before I can see one, or until I come across one in my journey.

Anyway, I’m going to take a well earned rest, and see if I can’t go to the Spirograph Nebula before I make my way to the Orion Nebula.

Entry 002

I have not yet come back to the Core Systems, but I think I will try to send this out to the Galnet (and a few other posts) right now instead of later, because I realise now that I am extremely impatient and just want to continue exploring.

I have finally finished my first exploration journey! It took me a few days, but I have explored all that I set out to do, and I now crave more adventure. Below are my thoughts throughout the entire journey (which will be split up in different posts, since I apparently wrote a lot…) as well as pictures!

Log update on 29-04-3305 at 19:10:28 in Aries Dark Region PY-Q B5-1

I’ve decided to go to the Pleiades Nebula first since it’s the closest, where I will then make my way to Witch Head Nebula, then the Orion Nebula, and finally Barnard’s Loop. After that, I’m not sure if I will turn around and come back, or make the trek over to the California Nebula. I guess I’ll figure it out when I’m at Barnard’s Loop! I’m actually already halfway to the Pleiades. I’m actually closer to the Nebula than I am to Sol, so it should not take me too long to get there.

Log update on 29-04-3305 at 20:26:50 in the Maia system, docked at Obsidian Orbital.

I am currently docked in Obsidian Orbital, right smack dab in the middle of the Pleiades Nebula. I have already taken a bunch of beautiful photographs, but I intend on taking a few more. I’m trying to plot a route to the Witch Head Nebula but it seems I need some sort of unknown permit to get there. How odd. Hopefully I might be able to figure it out at this station. I’m surrounded by people once more, and there’s no use not asking for help.

og update, 20 minutes after previous log: I’ve gotten a tip from the locals that there is a way though to the Witch Head Nebula, I just need to plot a route directly to Rigel, as there’s a sweet spot in there where I can access the Witch Head sectors. This will also let me go directly to the Orion Nebula and Barnard’s Loop as well! Very good news for me. I will head out after I’ve had a rest. This might be the last time in quite a while I will be able to say that I’m truly safe, so I might as well make the most of my time in this station.

Entry 001

My name is Aiden Jhadol.

Although, most know me as Commander Consortia. It is a name I took for myself as an explorer, after my parents ship’s name: Consortia-7.

Like my mother and father before me, I am an explorer-

Err…okay, well…I’m not an explorer yet…but I intend to be. I don’t know if it’s because I grew up in the explorer’s environment, or if it’s just in my blood, but the strong desire to go out into deep space has overcome me like nothing else I have felt before. Though I only experienced a bit of exploring when I was young, with my parents, I don’t think my younger self really understood what was going on, or where I was. I wasn’t able to appreciate the beauty of our galaxy the way my parents were experiencing it, and I’ve decided that I want to go out into the cold, unforgiving galaxy, to experience the feelings that my parents did when they were younger. I intend on writing update logs like these during my journey, to share my experiences and thoughts with others that may also desire to go exploring one day (or maybe already are!) but of course, posting them to the Galnet will take some time the further away I am from the Bubble. So…updates may not come at a very quick pace. Don’t worry about me though, I’ll be fine. My parents taught me well in the art of exploring, so I shouldn’t run into much danger in deep space. You might not get updates for weeks or months at a time since deep space is…well…deep. So, don’t be alarmed if you don’t hear from me very often.

I do not know where my first journey will really take me, I might go to one of the nebulae closer to the Bubble, just to start off gently. I don’t want to be making any rash decisions before I’ve even started.

Farewell for now, Commanders! Wish me luck.
